CSV ↔ JSON

Convert CSV to JSON or JSON to CSV online with quoted multiline-field handling and preservation of zero and false values.

The interactive workspace opens when JavaScript is available. Instructions and related guides are readable below.

About CSV ↔ JSON

Convert tabular CSV data to JSON and vice versa.

How to use CSV ↔ JSON

  1. Choose CSV to JSON or JSON to CSV and select the correct delimiter.
  2. Paste a header row and CSV records, or a JSON array of objects.
  3. Convert, inspect quotes and empty values, then copy or download the result.

Where processing happens

Conversion runs locally in your browser.

Important limitations

Up to 200,000 input characters. CSV values are strings; JSON false and zero are retained on export. Nested JSON objects become JSON text inside a cell rather than separate nested CSV columns. Headers must be unique.

Worked examples

Quoted comma in CSV

name,note
Ada,"hello, world"

The comma inside quotes stays in one note field. The result contains one object with name Ada and note hello, world.

Different JSON fields

[{"name":"Ada","count":0},{"name":"Lin","active":false}]

The CSV header includes name, count and active. Missing fields become empty cells; zero and false are not discarded.

Choose a formatter to inspect syntax, a converter to change representation or a table viewer to inspect records. Keep a source copy and check field names, missing values and value types before importing the result elsewhere.
